Refund & Return Policy

At American Feeder Co., we work hard to deliver high-quality feeder insects and supplies in peak condition. Due to the perishable nature of our live products, our return and refund policies are strict, with limited exceptions.


1. Live Insects (Non-Returnable)

1.1 We do not accept returns or guarantee refunds on live feeder insects once shipped. All sales of live insects are final.

1.2 If your live order arrives dead on arrival (DOA), you must:

  • Contact us at contact@americanfeederco.com within 1 hour of delivery confirmation

  • Include clear, unedited photos of the entire shipment and shipping label

  • Have selected the USPS Live Pickup (Hold for Pickup) shipping method at checkout

1.3 Your email should include the following information:

  • First and last name

  • Order number

  • Tracking number

  • A brief description of the issue

1.4 If any of the required information is not included in the body of the email, it must be clearly visible in the photos (e.g., written on paper next to the shipment). We prefer this information to be typed directly in the email whenever possible to avoid delays.

1.5 We may offer a refund, credit, or reshipment at our discretion if these criteria are fully met. If your package was left at the post office and not picked up promptly, we cannot offer any compensation. It is your responsibility to monitor tracking and retrieve live shipments on time.


2. Non-Perishable Items

2.1 Returns on non-live items (such as heat packs, calcium powder, apparel, or supplies) are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Items must be:

  • Unopened, unused, and in original packaging

  • Reported to us within 30 days of delivery

  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

2.2 Contact us before sending anything back. Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.


3. Refunds

3.1 Refunds are not guaranteed and are issued only at our discretion. If approved, we’ll issue your refund to the original payment method within 10 business days. Processing times by your bank or card provider may vary.

3.2 If more than 15 business days have passed since we confirmed your refund, please reach out to us.


4. Final Sale Items

We do not offer returns or refunds on:

  • Live insects

  • Sale or discounted items

  • Gift cards


5. Shipping & Weather Disclaimers

5.1 Carrier Delays
We are not responsible for shipping delays, mishandling, or delivery errors caused by USPS or other carriers. Live insect guarantees may be voided by extreme weather conditions or prolonged transit times beyond our control.

5.2 Weather Disclaimer
Customers are responsible for considering local weather conditions when placing live insect orders. Orders placed during extreme heat or cold without appropriate shipping upgrades (such as heat packs) may not be eligible for DOA protection.


6. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse returns, refunds, or service to any customer who abuses our policies, submits fraudulent claims, or otherwise violates our terms of service.


7. Limitation of Liability

American Feeder Co. is not liable for any harm, injury, or loss resulting from the use or misuse of our products, including but not limited to harm to animals, property, or persons. All products are used at the customer’s own risk.
